Construction begins on our first fully co-developed major project
It’s official: Construction has begun on the first large-scale storage project that be.storaged has completely co-developed with sdp energie. Following the successful development phase, we are now taking over all services in the areas of planning, procurement and construction (EPC) as well as future operation and maintenance.
The 15-MW / 30-MWh system in Döbeln, Saxony, is designed to improve grid stability and support the integration of renewable energies by compensating for fluctuations in electricity generation from wind and solar. The plant stores surplus energy generated during times of high production, which can then be used when needed, making an important contribution to stabilizing the energy supply.
For this project, sdp energie, in collaboration with be.storaged, carried out the complete development up to construction readiness. From this point on, terralayr took over the project, and we at be.storaged were given full EPC responsibility. The seamless handover from development to construction, supported by our technical expertise in the field of utility-scale battery systems, ensures efficient execution while minimizing risks and delays.
The Döbeln plant, equipped with Trina Storage batteries, will be part of a broader platform for digital energy flexibility. This will enable energy producers, grid operators and companies to access virtual storage capacities, contributing to a smarter and more adaptable energy landscape.
The Döbeln project complements our growing portfolio of large energy storage systems, which also includes the projects in Tittling and Untersteinach. With these developments, we are continuing to drive innovation in the field of energy storage and consolidate our role in accelerating the energy transition.
